Daniel Esteban Lugo is a first generation Mexican-American tenor from El Paso, Texas. He began his singing career doing opera choruses, namely Tosca and Carmen, as a high school student at the El Paso Opera. Daniel completed a BM in Vocal Performance (‘20) at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee under the tutelage of Monique Phinney. â€‹

Daniel has since performed with several opera houses including the Seagle Festival, Des Moines Metro Opera, Tri-cities Opera, Virginia Opera and Opera Saratoga.

​

This summer, Daniel joined the Festival Artist program at Opera Saratoga where he performed The New Yorker in the whimsical opera, La Vie Parisienne, directed by Mary Birnbaum and conducted by Juliane Gallant.

​

In the fall, Daniel will return to Virginia Opera where he will cover the role of Don Ramiro in Rossini's La Cenerentola under the baton of Adam Turner.
